Electro-Harmonix is an American company, based out of New York, which specialized in low-budget, high-excitement effects pedals, mostly for guitar. However they did venture into the synthesizer market with their Mini-Synthesizer and the sampler market with their Super Replay, a digital delay and sampler designed by David Cockerell, formerly of EMS. In 1985 Electro-Harmonix closed their doors, David was drafted by Akai. His design for a sampler went on to become the Akai S612.
