Roland TR-66

owner: Doug Ferguson, Ft. Worth, TX used by the band "Ohm"

The TR-66 is a simplified CR-68 (which is, in turn, a simplified CR-78). It features 27 preset rhythms, the first nine selectable via a row of nine buttons along the bottom and the rest selectable via a six position switch used in conjunction with three bank buttons. There are knobs for tempo, volume/power, and balance, as well as a three-position "Arrange" switch, choosing between "Vari. A", "Auto", and "Vari. B".

Available presets from the bottom buttons are (from right to left) Waltz, Jazz Waltz, Slow Rock, Bossanova, Samba, Mambo, Cha-cha, Beguine, and Rhumba. And the upper presets (arranged in groups of 6) are Rock 1-6, Bass & Snare, Foxtrot 1-2, Swing 1-3, March, Parade, Shuffle, Habanera, and Tango. ----[from a TR-66 ad courtesy of the archives at Hyperreal
